It is taught with the same low-level perspective we apply in research — responders who understand how attacks are built investigate them far more effectively.&#xA;Students who want to continue into full malware reverse engineering after this track should look at the reverse engineering track, which begins where Incident Response and Threat Hunting 2 leaves off.</description>

      <description>Mobile platforms are among the hardest targets in security research, and among the most valuable. This track builds the specific knowledge each platform demands — Apple&amp;rsquo;s layered protections on one side, the Binder and privileged service surface on the other.&#xA;The same platforms feature heavily in our own work; our research articles include a full study of macOS and iOS internals for vulnerability research.&#xA;Students coming from the reverse engineering track will find this track a natural extension, though it is not a formal prerequisite.</description>

      <description>This track builds the analytical skills that underpin everything else we teach. Reverse engineering is the common foundation of malware analysis, vulnerability research and exploit development, and students who complete it are well prepared to move into the vulnerability research and exploitation track.&#xA;Malicious Documents Analysis and Non-Binary Analysis are shorter, self-contained courses. They fit naturally between Malware Analysis 1 and 2, but can also be taken independently.</description>

Kernel driver research, crash triage and exploit development all assume fluency with Windows internal structures and with WinDbg, and this is where that fluency is built.&#xA;Students planning to take Windows Exploit Development 3, which covers kernel driver vulnerability research, benefit considerably from Windows Internals and from Windows Live and Crash Dump Analysis beforehand.</description>
